I’ve worked in the computer industry for over 40 years doing research on advanced computer systems at both IBM and AMD. Over those years I was a Principal Investigator on research programs that eventually led to the world’s first exascale computer. I’ve participated in panel sessions at major conferences and have given multiple invited talks and keynote presentations. I am currently a Sr. Fellow at AMD’s Research and Advanced Development division in Austin Texas, leading research projects on advanced system designs for computers to be built later this decade..

I’m currently on the board of the Austin Forum on Technology and Society and was the past president of the Austin chapter of the World Future Society. I was also on the board for Common Grounds for Texans, a local civics engagement organization.

I have a strong interest in exploring an “encore career” on the impact of future technologies on society, ethical use of technology, and trying to understand the possible future scenarios for our society.
